What More To Say?

What can I say? There’s really nothing left to say.

Everything I have talked about, waited for, looked forward to, is now happening real time.

All there is left to do is watch… listen… understand… and maybe a little shaking of the head at the loss of what could have been.

There’s no point crying about it.  No point screaming at others for what is happening. We all share the blame, if there is any blame.  Maybe this is how it is supposed to be.  How it is supposed to end.

There is certainly no point in keeping on telling folks what is going to happen.  They can now see it and experience it for themselves, whether they refused to or were incapable of seeing it before.

I find no joy in saying these things but the writing has been on the wall for the end of what we rather sloppily and unjustifiably refer to as ‘civilisation’.  Squeeze out the last few drops of it if you will.  Keep piling up your toilet papers, eating your take-away pizzas. Its Hard Yakka as we say in Australia, from now on.  No more couch potatoes.  No more sloping off and skiving.  Those who look to providing for themselves, as many around the world have always done and still do, mainly in rural environments, by hand, without the aid of modern machinery, living with the soil and understanding the seasons, ensuring the necessities of life for themselves, will still be resilient in the new world. Those who don’t or can’t adapt to that lifestyle will soon fall away as stark reality hits.

That’s going to be really difficult for the Western world, which will not easily give up the old paradigm of everything being provided in return for meaningless labour or no labour at all, nor will they easily yield to the new paradigm of do it yourself – all of it.

I don’t know yet if I will continue to write like this, or as much as I have done in the past anyway.  In any case it is unlikely that there will be any remaining electrical power generation to support a global internet for much longer. We shall see.

2020 was always going to be the year this new era began.  I have felt that for some time.  Well, here it is, in all its glory and terror.

And there are still a great many who think they will be able to pick up where they left off soon enough. Fools, fooling only themselves.
