I have refrained from comments on the Syrian conflict recently because that situation became clouded and reports could not be trusted to be representative of the overall nature of events. I have nonetheless continued to follow what has been happening there and I believe that this video report from South Front is a fair assessment of the current status at least inasmuch as it applies to events to the north and east of the Euphrates.
Just exactly where the various forces are actually situated though in those contested areas, and who holds what ground, remains something of a mystery.
There is also a lot of action going on in the Idlib province to the West, but so far not much movement. The difficulty of the mountainous terrain there is probably behind that situation.
More on both those situations as clear news becomes available.
