BRICS Works

If you have not yet read my previous post on BRICS, please do so before continuing to read this next-day follow up.

Before saying anything, whether pro- or anti- BRICS, it is of paramount importance to understand exactly what that organisation – currently comprised only of less than a score of so-called Global South member and partner states but set to blossom further to a much broader base within the community of human nations once this truth is realised – is functionally and foundationally all about. When this is fully understood, many of the ‘doubtful’ through to ‘erroneous’ ideas on the subject of ‘What is BRICS, and is it worthy of attention?’ will dissipate like so much mist on a sunny day.

Think BRICS, the independently owned, subscriber supported, online source for BRICS news, carries, in their own words: “…strategic analysis, and insights that reframe opportunity, trust, and global understanding”. They don’t always phrase it right in their Headlines, and their on-screen captioning can produce confusing results, but they do generally get it on the important BRICS values – and the rest is excusable and understandable.

Some very clear motifs are dealt with in this recent video. There are no contradictions. No betrayals. Look beyond the obvious. Stop thinking like a westerner, and you will see exactly what is there. I wish I could explain every apparent situation here. Well, I can actually, but it would take far too long, and I have a life to live too. These national leaders, they all get it. Some may be unhappy with some things, but they all know it is all permitted within the BRICS framework – by design. And they all know there is no situation which can bring down that edifice. And they are all prepared to work hard themselves to make it work. Not just for their own nations, though that is important, but for all nations of the world – even the western ones, if they could only see it.

BRICS is not against any nation. That may be difficult to accept, but it is true. Every nation could prosper under the BRICS framework, and that is how it is being designed. The design does not allow for any nation to dominate – which may be a drawback for any nation for whom that is a priority. Because the means required to gain a dominant position, i.e. the accumulation of wealth at the expense of everyone else (the current and past system – which has failed and is guaranteed to do so, eventually, in every case), will no longer be possible. War and conflict, or the threats of same, as means of persuasion or intimidation, will no longer be effective. Imagine how much global wealth now being spent on wasteful, destructive, and unnecessary war paraphernalia, in a world where such amounts and types of weaponry were not deemed useful or, to a large extent in today’s terms, needed, could be diverted to foster the good of all mankind. That is a personal dream, but a worthwhile one, which may become possible of realisation in a BRICS organised world. But always will be impossible under today’s conditions. But since today’s conditions are in rapid dereliction, it is a dream we may, at some future time, consider making real.

If the current BRICS leaders all see it, and they can all get along together – as they are doing – for the greater purpose and design, and the ensuing benefits (which are quite obviously not all there yet), then you, we, I, need to find the same vision. Because it is our lives, our welfare, our existence – as eventually free and indomitable people – that is at stake here.
