…for a number of reasons. But I am particularly focusing on risks to maritime services – not only from Iran and its West Asia allies, or from China’s growing and increasingly assertive naval forces and in particular now, from this week onwards, from the Russian Pacific Fleet naval forces.
Western nations would be well advised to wind their necks in by a considerable amount so as to not further annoy Russia – which must be a nation filled with Saints to have kept patience so far with examples of pretentious western bravado leading to really stupid and ill-thought-out aggression against Russian interests. Not to mention plans going nowhere due to unaffordibility, being hamstrung by debt, and lack of technological expertise in materiel fit for modern warfare – in all of which, Russia now surpasses at every level. Russia having been driven to that success in order to maintain their national sovereignty, through being sanctioned to the hilt for years if not decades by the same western nations who are now floundering in a pit of despair when confronted by their own impotence and the realisation that it is they who now lag and lack the means to recover the position and power their actions, or inaction and paucity of forethought and planning, have caused them to lose.
Russia and its strategic partners are now in a position to take advantage of this situation. I believe they will do that on all fronts of confrontation across the globe. I did not expect them to do this in the Pacific region, of all possible places where they could. But take a look at this…
