On The Science of Studying Data

Making stuff is not science. That’s called manufacturing. Science, pure science, is the collection and study of data …and making conclusions based solely on the study of data. Nothing else. And not with any intent to achieve a particular result. It is not science to set up manufactured studies designed to prove something in particular. That is called experimentation.

Sadly, corrupt science has developed to use both manufacturing and experimentation as the basis of most of its studies. Scientists have largely become manufacturers and designers of experiments which are mostly aimed towards set goals. Pure scientists pursue only pure science.

[These statements have been related quite starkly for a reason. In real life the boundaries are rather more blurred. It boils down to the difference between what is done purely as a means of discovery and what is done for business purposes i.e. with profit and control in mind.]

Scientist Denis Rancourt, doing what pure scientist’s do – studying collected data and drawing appropriate conclusions – this is what he found as being the outcomes of corrupt science…
