Nimitz Bluff and Bluster

While it never actually left the table, the threat of war I spoke about a few days ago is still only a whisker away.

The USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group was recalled home on Jan 1, as I reported. Today it has been turned around back to the Gulf area by Presidential decree.

Of course this is all US bluff and bluster. The Nimitz has only been in Gulf waters for a few days. It was stationed off the Horn of Africa in late December. See the image right from US Naval Intelligence News – Fleet Tracker page.
